Workshops on military journalism
Today, future military journalists studying at the military Department of the L. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, as part of the training program, held practical classes at the Media Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This center plays an important role in covering the life of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
Official events of the defense department, state and international events, combat training and exercises of troops, performances of army athletes at prestigious international competitions, as well as difficult but interesting everyday life of Kazakhstani soldiers – all this is in the field of view of military journalists.
The life of the army is actively covered on the official accounts of the Ministry of Defense on social networks Instagram, Telegram, on the YouTube channel, as well as on the website of the Defense Ministry. During their acquaintance with the Media Content Center, the students learned that military journalists always adhere to the principles of reliability, objectivity and efficiency in their work. Thanks to their work, a wide audience receives information about military service, the activities and achievements of the Armed Forces, as well as about the daily lives of defenders of the Fatherland. This is precisely the importance of the profession of a military journalist.
Experienced specialists working at the Media Content Center shared with the students the secrets of military journalism, which is both a complex and fascinating field. So, the head of the editorial and publishing department, Tatiana Bredikhina, spoke about working with the text, the correct use of military terminology and the creation of interesting and informative materials. The head of the editing and design department, Sania Sadykova, explained the basics of video editing and ways to attract the attention of viewers using modern technologies.
The Deputy head of the Media Content Center, Colonel Roman Kazunin, introduced the students to the production process of the creative team, the sound and video recording studio. He said that all videos, podcasts and other media products related to the activities of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan are created here. He also demonstrated a mobile television station designed for filming various field exercises and explained its functionality.
In conclusion, we can say that, as the saying goes, "It's better to see once than hear a hundred times," and such practical exercises are undoubtedly a valuable experience for future military journalists.
